(1904 - 1991)
A fearless British woman who defied stereotypes and conventions as a pioneer in motorcycle racing and adventure. She broke down barriers and challenged the status quo by becoming the first woman to win a gold medal for reaching over 100 mph on a motorcycle at Brooklands race track in 1934. In 1935, she and her friend Theresa Wallach rode a motorcycle and sidecar from London to Cape Town, covering over 13,000 miles through Africa, facing treacherous terrain, hostile locals, and unpredictable weather conditions. Florence's achievements serve as a shining example of what can be achieved when you have the courage to go against society's expectations of what a woman should be. Her spirit lives on as an inspiration to all those who dare to dream big and pursue their passions with fearless abandon.
